Hello Kindergarten families!

My name is Mrs. Bellomo, and since I will be your student's teacher this year, I thought you might like to know something about who I am, and what kind of plans we have ahead of us in the upcoming year. I am married, and I have two cats, Luci and Lola. In my spare time I like to camp and kayak, and my family is very important to me. I have a large collection of games, and I love to invite my family and friends over for game nights.

This is my second year teaching Kindergarten at GBA and we have some great things ahead of us this year! We will learn to read and write stories, we will do lots of science experiments, and we will even learn about cool places like Egypt and Australia. I hope you are as excited for the upcoming year as I am.

Our classroom is workshop-based, and we will be learning through play and exploration, so you will not see homework or worksheets come home often. I will, however keep you updated about what we do in the classroom, via newsletters and this website, in the hopes that you will find time just to discuss what your child is learning with him or her. I will also send home tips for educational games and activities that build on skills we are learning in the classroom.

I welcome parent volunteers in the classroom, but I do ask that you let me know in advance so I can schedule the day to make the most of your help.

If you have any questions for me, please do not hesitate to ask! I truly look at your child's education as a team effort between the school and the family, and I encourage open lines of communication. I look forward to our year together!
