Welcome to 5th Grade!
Every year I am surrounded by a new group of unique human beings, whom I respect and care about. Every year they help me learn something new about my subject, and myself. I'm glad you will be joining me for wonderful math learning, and adventures this year!
Daily Math - Skills review done at the beginning of each class.
Problem Solving - Solve, story and real world problems. Ongoing throughout the year.
Technology - "Skills Iowa" ongoing throughout the year. Other technology will be used, or suggested for home use for specific units.
Numbers and Operations - Whole number and fraction, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Measurement - Standard and Metric. Measure and convert within systems.
Data Analysis - Interpret and design, charts, graphs, and tables. Coordinate graphing.
Geometry - Classify two dimensional figures. Use area, perimeter, and volume.
Algebra - Write and interpret numerical expressions. Analyze patterns.
