Welcome to my classjump link. Each class is listed here along with their current curriculum subjects.
Please note that all of my Junior and High school students are required to do a make-up assignment when they miss class (or they will not recieve points for that day.) Elementary, Junior and Senior High students are graded on their ability to demonstrate respectful and appropriate behavior in class. Thanks for coming!
High School Band
Four Students participated in the Solo and Ensemble Festival in St. Joseph on Saturday March 27th. The students are all preparing to perform and Sight-Read for 4 judges at NW for Contest on April 9th.
Our Spring Concert will be on April 26th at 7pm.
6th and 7th Grade Band
6th and 7th Grade Band continues to work on rhythms with claps and counts. We are currently working on 3 pieces for our Spring Concert on April 26th.
K and 1st Grade Music
The students are working towards learning all the words and music for the songs they'll be performing with the rest of the school on April 22nd. The students will spend May singing songs with games and watching a musical DVD.
2nd and 3rd Grade Music
April will be busy as we prepare for our up-coming Spring Concert (6:30 in Hopkins on April 22, Earth Day) all the classes will be singing songs about; Spring and Taking Care of the Earth. In May we will continue to spend time with rhythmic and melodic notation and watch a musical on DVD.
4th Grade Music
Fourth grade is taking a break from earning belts on the recorder as we prepare to sing (and play) for the concert on April 22nd. The concert will include songs with themes about taking care of our earth and enjoying sring.
5th Grade Band
Wow! we are really making progress. Most of the students are able to play their first scale. We are also working on playing two songs for the concert on April 22nd. For those students who forget to bring their instrument, please be sure to practice at home.
5th Grade Music
5th grade will be adding a lot of 'colorful' sounds to our Spring Concert on April 22nd as they are learning to play the Boomwackers. 5th grade will finish up in May with some review of the composers and clasical music we have studied this year.
8th Grade Music
The eighth grade has done very well with their guitar skills. We will continue to polish our skill on guitar as we learn to play and sing 'Lean on Me' for th Spring Concert on April 26.
High School Choir
Students have been singing: There's Room for Many-a-More, In This Ancient House (Janpanese) and Home. These songs will be sung for Contest on April 9th at NW. The students will be judged for their performance and for sight-reading (singing a song w/o hearing it first).
