This year-long course is designed to prepare students for Algebra. Areas of emphasis will include the fundamental operations of math and basic concepts of rational numbers in fractional, decimal, and exponential form.
In addition, students will learn to solve multi-step equations, graph equations, use spatial thinking, data analysis, and apply these skills to problem solving.
Calculators are used frequently, but I am a firm believer that each student should know the basics without the use of a calculator. We WILL learn the "long" way to solve problems! :)

"Ren Math" a.k.a Accelerated Math (AM) is the second component to our math progam here at MJHS.
Accelerated Math is a technology based program that helps to differentiate math instruction, addressing each student's individual needs.
Each student must meet goals set by the math department each nine-weeks. The goal must be met by the time report cards go out.
"AM" will be a separate grade & part of our BONES Incentive program here at MJHS.
