Accelerated Math 3
I will be available for help sessions for the week of September 19 on the following days and times:
Wednesday: 9/21/11; 8:05am - 8:30am Thursday: 9/22/2011; 8:05am- 8:30 am If these times do not fit your schedule you may attend a help session offered through the math department. The math department's help session calendar can be found in the class download section of this webpage. COURSE DESCRIPTION This is a course in pre-calculus and statistics, designed to prepare students to take AB or BC Advanced Placement Calculus. It includes rational, circular trigonometric and inverse trigonometric functions; basic trigonometric identities and the laws of sines and cosines; sequences and series; polar and parametric equations; vectors; the central limit theorem and confidence intervals. Instruction and assessment should include the appropriate use of manipulatives, and technology. Topics should be represented in multiple ways, such as concrete/pictorial, verbal/written, numeric/data-based, graphical, and symbolic. Concepts should be introduced and used, where appropriate, in the context of realistic phenomena.
