Welcome to First Grade! My name is Vanessa Pompa and I am your child's teacher. I grew up in Katy, TX. and recently graduated from Texas A&M University! WHOOP This is my first year at Condit and I couldn't be happier. This year will be exciting for everyone, and I look forward to a successful school year!

We will be working on number concept, problem solving, addition and subtraction and patterns. Please help us from home by practicing the facts using flashcards. Here is a site to help you practice your addition skills. There is also a website you can use to practice the facts and for math quizzes. We have also been working on measuring, graphs, fractions, money and time. Here is a website that can help you creat your own worksheets for extra practice.

Please remember to always read for at least 20 minutes every night. Please listen to your child read and ask him/her questions about the story. I am also incorporating a web site where your child can practice the phonograms we will be studying in class. You can go into Spelling City to practice your spelling words.
