AP Chemistry
AP Chemistry is a four term course: AP Chemistry A/B (two terms) and AP Chemistry C/D (two terms).
AP Chemistry A/B is a college preparatory course taken in place of Chemistry A/B. It is a college level chemistry course that covers the same topics as Chemistry A/B but with additional emphasis on in-depth problem solving. This course provides a challenge for the highly motivated student who possesses a well above average mathematical background and is considering a mathematics or science related college major. AP Chemistry A/B coupled with AP Chemistry C/D will provide the student with sufficient background to attempt the AP Chemistry examination.

Chemistry
This Chemistry course is designed to explore the many different aspects of Chemistry, and is appropriate for college bound students. Chemistry is a challenging, mathematical based course, but the stress is on ability to reason. Labs, as they fit into the over-all scheme are used to demonstrate certain aspects of the chapters covered.

Classroom Materials
It is expected that each student will bring a:
- pencil
- a folder dedicated only for Chemistry
- a notebook
- a lab notebook (this is a bound composition notebook and can be found at target, walmart etc.)
- a scientific calculator able to handle exponents (TI 30 is sufficient).
- Also, a commitment to quality study time both in class and on a regular basis at home.
