Advanced Placement English at Prescott High School exposes students to college level literature and and writing assignments. Students must come into the class with a high work ethic and be willing to go beyond basic class expectations.

English 10 is a required English course at Prescott High School. During the course of the year students in English 10 read several short stories, two novels, two plays, and engage in shorter units covering poetry, speech, and essay writing.

Honors English 10 at Prescott High School requires selection by the 9th grade English teacher. Students in Honors English 10 also complete a short story unit, read two novels and two plays, and engage in shorter units of poetry, speech, and essay writing.

The major differences between Honors English 10 and regular English 10 are the increased work requirements and engagement in more use of critical thinking skills.
