We welcome you back to school. This year will bring many exciting changes. I have been in education for over 20 years. This will be my third year at Woodbury.

We will have a new 6 period schedule this year with 3 trimesters.

I hope to meet the students and parents during our open house on Tuesday, August 31. You will receive a letter regarding the details.

Science: Students will learn about environmental science. They will work on the areas of understanding how to keep our environment clean and understanding resources that keep our communities functioning.

Social Studies: Students will learn about their community, state and national government as it applies to their daily life.

Students will work on reading and language skills at their current ability level. They will build on development of reading comprehension skills

Students will work on study skills and the development of strategies to manage their class assignments.

Transition: Students will learn the 5 areas of transition and practice skills in these areas on a daily basis. The purpose of this course is to help students identify areas of need and build on skills to become as independent as possible in the community

Students will identify vocational areas of interest and develop a career plan. They will work on the 5 areas of transition for the purpose of developing a plan post high school
