POLICY CHANGES for Spring 2013
I no longer accept late homework in Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 except for students who are absent when homework is assigned or due OR in the case of students who have IEPs listing extra time as an accomodation. Students must try every assigned problem - really TRY - in order to receive credit. I will walk around the room and assign either 3 points or 0 points at the beginning of each period.
I am also going to give weekly open note quizzes. Students will not receive credit for quiz corrections but doing such corrections will help them learn and achieve. This is an attempt to hold my students to a higher learning standard and give them the opportunity to grow as learners.
I will, however, now accept test corrections. Students will receive half credit back for each corrected test question. Because it is easy to get the correct answer from a friend, students MUST show detailed work in order to receive the half credit.
