| Course Description: Science is the systematic study of all of nature, from particles too small to see to the human body to the entire universe. Therefore, Science is divided into many different fields. The three broad categories are: life science, earth science, and physical science. Life science focuses on the study of living things which includes cells and microbiology. Earth science focuses on the study of our planet and its place in the universe; it includes geology and the hydrosphere. Physical science focuses on what things are made of and how they change; it includes chemistry and physics. This course pulls together units from the different categories of science to give a broad picture of how scientists study nature. Students are required to take and pass the Science End of Grade (EOG) Test at the end of the year. |
