Welcome to my class. I look forward to teaching your child this year. I hope they find writing as enjoyable and exciting as I do.

Students participating in Impromptu Speaking will learn how to give a speech on an unknown topic with only three minutes to prepare. This event is for 7th and 8th grade students.

Students will work on their keyboarding skills.

This is a writing contest for 7th and 8th grade students. Students are given a prompt in which they have 45 minutes to write a response. In their response, they must take a specific stance and give supporting reasons for their stance.

In Modern Oratory, the 7th & 8th grade contestants will select a topic from a list of 5 predetermined topics. They will determine the critical issues in the topic, and acknowledge both the pro and con points citing support discovered in their research. Students will then choose a side and defend and support that side with evidence.

Student Council Elections for the 2011-2012 School year were held on Tuesday, May 3.
