“When am I ever going to use this stuff?” Students in math classes often ask this question. In our math class we try to show students that math is important in their daily lives. Integers are everywhere. We use them for golf scores. We use them when finding elevation, balancing a checkbook, or talking about temperature. There are many practical uses for integers.
We have started Chapter 5, Algebra: Using Integers, today in class. Over the next couple of weeks your child will learn how to order, add, subtract, multiply and divide integers. Your child will also learn about the coordinate grid and how to graph points.

Do you need extra practice on the concepts we are practicing in class? Go to your class period and download the worksheets to practice or practice the odd problems from the lessons in our math book. The answers are in the back of the book. Also under class downloads in your class period I have posted the Powerpoints that were used in class.
