WELCOME SPECTACULAR SECOND GRADERS!!
Get ready for an exciting year of learning...we will head off on many adventures together so if you're ready...Let's get started...
BREAKING NEWS....Check out the great time we had at the zoo...view our new photo album now uploaded! ![]() Greetings: We head to the ZOO tomorrow! Hopefully the weather will cooperate with us, if not we have a rain date for our trip planned for Thursday. Everyone is so excited to see the animals that we have researched. We are also excited to put our economic skills to good use when we shop in the zoo gift store. We learned the money from our purchases will go to help support the upkeep of the animals, and we will also have to make decisions about how we want to spend our money. The children know there are items from under a $1.00 on up. I told them it was their decision regarding if they wanted to buy something and it was also their responsibility to be careful with their money. In class we all decided $5.00 was a good amount to plan on bringing and it was decided $10.00 would be the most anyone would want to bring on our trip. Please be aware that our Homework for the Week might be subject to some changes due to our field trip. We will cover our regular weekly studies. In addition, we will be preparing to take two unit assessments this week. One will be for Unit 4 in Religion. Students will have a "study guide" and can use the Blest are We website link available on our webpage to help them prepare for the test. The second assessment will be Unit 9 in Math. The main focus, as I am certain everyone should be aware, will be on measurement, perimeter, and area. Students will thoroughly review and prepare for these assessments in school and I appreciate your help at home with their preparations too! I know everyone will make it their goal to do a great job! The school days are winding down and I always have so many mixed emotions at the end of the school year. I am so happy with the great growth both academically and spiritually that we experience throughout our school year together but I am always so sad to have to say good-bye to my spectacular second graders as they graduate and become THIRD graders! I feel so lucky and blessed, we have had such a wonderful year, thank you for sharing your SPECTACULAR children with me! Blessings, Mrs. Wanecke p.s. For all my "detective" students the bonus activity this week is....go to the Blest are We website and do a chapter quiz in Unit 4 and email me your results for extra credit! Additionally, you can visit the Spelling City website and do any of the activities to practice your spelling words and print off a sample of your work and turn in to the blue tray for extra credit.

Every student is responsible to memorize this prayer before our Christmas Break. A good way for this to be accomplished is to include it in your morning or before bedtime prayers!
