WELCOME TO THE KINDER-CREW, THE 2013-14 SHIFT!
Wow! Its a new school year and I am in a new location!!! Yes, I've gone back to the floor!!!
The Kinder-Crew is made up of two "shifts". We have an amazing crew of Kindergartners as well as a fabulous, energetic four year-old crewmates, embarking on a NEW program of Transitional Kindergarten.
Back-to School Night is tomorrow evening, Thursday, September 5th at (doors open at 6:00pm) 6:30, in the Hall. I am looking forward to meeting new parents to the Kinder-Crew and and refreshing the kinship of parents of siblings of my 2-Crew alumni (Once a 2-Crewmate, Always a 2-Crewmate, now Kinder-Crew too!). If there are any questions, please feel free to contact me, either through email, or phone me at school. I will get right back to you. I will be communicating through the Homework Express, this class web-page, as well as periodic newsletters, weekly conduct/homework check-up sheets (they will go home at the end of the week-to be returned on the following school day, usually Monday) and progress reports. Let's have a FANTASTIC year!

We will have our first field trip next Tuesday, November19th, 2013! Yes, this is short notice, but we can make it!!! The Little Seedling Ranch Tour is geared towards our young Crewmates. Our tour begin at 10AM. Crewmates will visit with the barnyard critters, scale the hay bale fort and mini-maze, play in the log cabin area and meet Johnny Appleseed. We will bring sack lunches (NO LUNCHBOXES, PLEASE!) to enjoy a picnic before a fantastic country ritual: the infamous Tractor-drawn Hayride! We will also be picking out our harvest pumpkins before our trip back to school.
(We'll be painting our pumpkins later that week.)
If you are interested in being a chaperon/driver please check the line and # of rear seatbelts for crewmates on the permission slip when you return it.
I will go through the forms to secure chaperons, and get back to those who wish to enjoy our adventure!
Please return the permission slips by Thursday, November 14th.
This is our homework contract (assignments for the KInder-Crew) for the week. Other information may be included, such as upcoming events and project information.
This week, week 4, the "real" homework begins..... Workbook page(s) are assigned to practice subject matter covered in class. Please have your crewmate complete the page(s) and return the book (pages intact) the following school day for grading. If the assignment is a separate page, please make sure that your crewmate writes his/her first name on the top of the page (We will add their # later.), and then return it the following school day to feed to FIDO.
If homework becomes difficult (taking more than 30 minutes or so); please STOP, (breathe, & wipe tears, if it got to that point) write me a note, then move on to have a better evening. We'll start fresh in the morning!
The Crew is awesome, and doing well!
