All afternoon, I've been thinking about
how to express my feelings. There really
aren't any words that
can truly convey my gratitude to all
of you in this final year of teaching
first grade at Wolf Branch. My heart
is heavy. These 25 years have been
such a joy. When I got to Wolf Branch
each morning, it felt like I had come
home.
This last group has been a special
treasure because I've known since
November that the decision needed to
be made. Mind and heart wanted to
teach one more year but body was saying,
"It's time." Knowing that, made the
year very special indeed.
So, THANK YOU SO MUCH for the
privilege of teaching your child and
getting to know so many of you.
The words from the Kevin Henkes book,
LILLY'S PURPLE PLASTIC PURSE, keep
running through my mind this evening:
"Wow," said Mr. Slinger. That was just
about all he could say, "Wow!"
Wow!
Have a lovely summer.
